Job Summary
Tenant Support Worker (TSW) provides assistance, support, education, and skills training to residents in Lookout Housing and Health Society’s services. Works with tenants to identify challenges, develop service plans, conduct crisis interventions, manage finances and medication, complete paperwork, and maintain data. Responsibilities include tenant intakes, coordinating with site management, supporting independence and stable living arrangements, collaborating with volunteers/practicum students, and applying trauma-informed practices and harm-reduction approaches to support residents with diverse needs. Requires a Diploma in Community Social Service, relevant certifications (First Aid, Food Safe as applicable), Driving license if required, and a Criminal Record check; prior experience and strong communication/organizational abilities are preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma in Community Social Service
- Class 5 BC Drivers’ License (Only if required)
- OFA 1 First Aid Certificate
- Food Safe Certificate (Only if required)
- Two years related experience or equivalent education/training
- Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector
- Ability to work independently and in cooperation with others
- Ability to supervise and train volunteers/practicum students
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with health and safety policies
- Experience with trauma-informed practice and harm reduction
- Ability to assist with intake, assessments, service planning, crisis intervention, and documentation
