Job Summary
Host orientations and provide ongoing information to residents regarding construction projects, processes, and expected impact on properties. Conduct inspections before, during, and after construction to inventory existing conditions and equipment, while providing onsite monitoring of contractors to support the Construction Project Manager. Ensure resident safety on site and train residents on proper care and operation of installed improvements after completion. Maintain and submit daily reports of activities, reporting all resident or contractor issues to the assigned supervisor. Perform various inspections for the department, such as assessing potholes, testing smoke detectors, and checking doors. Assist the Maintenance Department in facilitating pest management visits and gaining resident cooperation. This union position reports to the VP of Modernization and works across various modernization and construction projects.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse team
- Excellent interpersonal communication and customer service skills
- Ability to maintain composure under pressure and use independent judgment
- Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality at all times
- Ability to communicate in English fluently
- Must be able to comfortably walk distances and climb stairs while working
- Proficient in computer/software programs, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability to be relied upon to be available for work, including adequate transportation and a valid, insurable driver's license
- Ability to work in an environment with conditions such as sleet, snow, dust and dirt, as well as cramped quarters and high places in all weather conditions
- Ability to work in all environments with conditions which may include fumes, odors, gasses, chemicals, dust, grass, weeds and pollen as well as noise in the range of 30 – 65 decibels
- Ability and willingness to wear any and all protective and safety clothing and devises as instructed, which may be required to work in the environments outlined above
