Job Summary

Oversee the social and financial performance of a designated portfolio of properties, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and tenancy management best practices. Foster a supportive team culture by providing coaching and support to team members for professional development. Manage large and complex property portfolios while interpreting legislative changes and identifying opportunities for service improvement. Handle diverse client relationships, including difficult ones, and apply knowledge of tenancy, mediation, and dispute resolution processes. Requires 3 to 5 years of experience leading teams, proficiency in interpreting legislation, and ideally some Te Reo Māori. All applicants must have New Zealand residency, a clean driver's licence, and a clean police record.

Required Qualifications

  • Tertiary level qualification in property management or Level 4 Certificate in Residential Property Management with the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand
  • 3 to 5 years of experience leading a team is essential
  • Working knowledge of Mediation, Tenancy Tribunal and Disputes Tribunal processes
  • Experience in managing a large portfolio of properties and tenancies in public, community, or private sector
  • Proficient in interpreting legislation and legislative changes and their impact on policies and procedures
  • Ability to role model best practices and to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds, including proven ability to handle and manage difficult relationships with clients
  • All applicants must have New Zealand Residency
  • All applicants must have a full and clean driver's licence
  • All applicants must have a clean police record

Desired Qualifications

  • Ideally, you will have some proficiency in Te Reo Māori and knowledge of tikanga Māori
