Job Summary
Oversee arrangements and logistics for training election support staff, preparing and distributing materials while assisting with training operations for over 2,000 poll workers across multiple locations. Co-facilitate classes with Elections Trainers once trained, answer questions via hotline, and dispatch assistance to locations through the ticketing system. Build packets with site-specific resources for inspectors and troubleshooters, and assist other divisions of Elections with daily functions. This role requires mandatory overtime during election cycles, including evenings, holidays, and weekends, with a pay range of $23/hourly plus overtime compensation. Candidates must be registered voters in Arizona, possess a valid driver's license, and pass a background screening. Maricopa County Elections serves over 2.5 million registered voters and values proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience supporting election activities.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of experience performing office, administrative, clerical, or training duties
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be a registered voter or have the ability to become a registered voter in the State of Arizona by the time of hire
- Must pass an applicable background screening
- Must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by the time of hire
- Must be able to work overtime as necessary
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience with administrative and clerical procedures, such as managing files and records
- Experience supporting election activities or as an election worker
- Professional verbal and written communication skills
- Experience presenting information to peer groups, audience-facing, and/or public speaking
- Travel to off-site training facilities
- Mandatory overtime during election cycles, including evenings, holidays, and weekends
- The ability to sit or stand for an extended period
- The ability to lift floor-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-waist of up to 25 pounds and carry for 100 feet
- The ability to push/pull up to 50 pounds for 200 feet
- Must not engage in any political discussion while on duty/at work
- Must pass a pre-employment background and/or fingerprint investigation as required by statute or policy, including drug and alcohol testing requirements for positions designated as safety-sensitive
Desired Qualifications
- A combination of post-secondary education and/or job-related experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications on a year-for-year basis
