Temporary Second Shift Industrial Painter II

Job Summary
Conduct full-cycle industrial painting operations, including surface preparation, coating application, and final finish inspection. Operate, clean, and maintain painting equipment while correctly preparing and taping off surfaces before painting. Safely hang parts in the paint booth, shop, wash bay, or outdoors and remove finished products from racks for shipping. Read blueprints and paint codes independently to mix paints and meet strict work order deadlines. Order supplies as needed and maintain a strong commitment to safety culture and PPE usage. Work the second shift from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. with a shift differential, performing duties requiring lifting up to 50 lbs and working in narrow spaces.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- equivalent combination of education and experience
- minimum of 1 year of industrial paint experience
- Full knowledge of industrial painting and bodywork
- Able to read blueprints
- Demonstrate the ability to read paint codes and mix paint
- Strong understanding of safety procedures
- Must be capable of utilizing proper PPE
- Ability to utilize desktop computer systems, hardware and operating systems
- Ability to frequently lift up to 50 lbs
- Able to lift 65 lbs. from floor to shoulder level occasionally
- Ability to frequently exert the pound force limits for push/pull 50lb f (no wheels) or 100lb f (wheels)
- Ability to operate overhead cranes, mobile equipment and motor vehicles
- Normal vision with or without corrective lenses
- Will be required on occasion to work more than 8 hours on one shift
- Will be required to work at a minimum height of four feet off of the ground
