Job Summary
Deliver knowledgeable customer service by greeting, relating, engaging, affirming, and thanking visitors while maintaining a positive sales floor presence. Perform register transactions including sales, memberships, and gift wrap; respond to inquiries and assist with selections using high Museum and product knowledge. Execute daily stock maintenance ensuring merchandise is signed, displayed, lit, and clean, and participate in physical inventory and stock checks. Open and close cash registers, advising the Assistant Store Manager on discrepancies. Visit the Museum regularly, attend all trainings and staff meetings, and comply with zoning and scheduling. Requires high school diploma, one year retail experience, and proficiency with POS and inventory systems. Salary is $19.50 per hour.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum one year in retail sales
- Committed to delivering a high level of customer service
- Strong verbal, organizational and communication skills
- Able to perform physical tasks as needed
- Proficiency with POS, Email, Inventory Management Systems
Desired Qualifications
- Interest in design, books, art, and architecture
- Fluency in foreign language
