Job Summary
Deliver a developmentally appropriate, inquiry/play-based program while ensuring compliance with Ministry of Education requirements and internal policies. Engage with children to provide care including meals, toileting, and dressing, and identify those needing additional support to guide parents through resource access. Complete program charts, daily logs, and reports using Storypark, and collaborate with team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to support all children. Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and parent/community meetings as needed. This temporary split-shift role at Cookstown Central PS runs Monday-Friday for 31.25 hours/week until April 2027, with a pay range of $26.59-$30.39/hour plus grants and premiums.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Early Childhood Education (or approved equivalency) from a recognized college or university
- A recent Police Vulnerable Sector Check
- At least 18 years of age or older due to licensing requirements
- Health assessment and up-to-date record of immunization as outlined by legislation
- Up-to-date registration with the College of ECEs (if applicable)
- Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid
- Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation, and with the use of pedagogical documentation
- Proven ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively and establish appropriate relationships with families, coworkers and other professionals
- Have the physical and emotional stamina to effectively supervise children in a variety of settings including outdoor public spaces
- Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce, and Storypark
- Moderate level of physical effort is regularly required; including but not limited to kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending, and carrying
- Candidates must be available to work a split shift in a before and after school program
- Full-time Split Shift Position (31.25 hours/week): Candidates must be available to work a split-shift (morning and afternoon) in our Before & After School programs Monday-Friday to be considered
