Temporary Promotor(a) - Mobile Health

Job Summary

Conduct community outreach in Alameda County neighborhoods, schools, and organizations to promote mobile health clinics and recruit participants for screening events. Provide culturally appropriate health education on preventive care and assist individuals with scheduling appointments, accessing services, and navigating referrals to medical, dental, and social support resources. Support mobile clinic operations by managing patient flow, registration, and documentation while maintaining HIPAA compliance. Track key metrics, submit required reports within 48 hours, and participate in team meetings and training. Weekend availability is required for this temporary role until December 2026.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience working with underserved communities for at least 2 years
  • Bilingual fluency, verbally and written in English/Spanish
  • Valid CA Driver's license
  • Ability to travel to community events
  • Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 50 pounds frequently
  • Ability to stand and move from one location to another daily
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to hear and effectively communicate with co-workers, clients, and the public
  • Ability to identify potential issues within the workplace, determine an appropriate means of avoiding and/or resolving the issues, work with others to address the issues, and carry out organized strategies for resolving and preventing similar issues in the future
  • Ability to process information and data for use within the organization
  • Weekend availability

Desired Qualifications

  • Community Health Worker certification
  • Experience in non-profit and community-based organizations
  • Proficient in MS Office and Google Workspace products
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates and models excellent 'customer service' orientation and ability to work with diverse populations
  • Exercises extreme discretion with the ability to hold, balance, and transmit public and confidential information needed by various parties
  • Maintains knowledge of community resources for client referrals
  • Can work under deadlines
