Job Summary
Maintain accurate program records through attendance and record keeping for all programs, as assigned. Implement a schedule of activities, games, crafts, and special events to provide a fun experience for children in the parks. Assist with preparation of items necessary for each program or event, including set-up and clean-up with a litter sweep and safety check at the park. Help conduct a well-rounded program to meet the recreational needs of the children while ensuring their safety by maintaining a safe, clean, and controlled environment. Enforce all park rules and regulations and follow CWPD brand guidelines. Work approximately 5–15 hours per week, with most shifts on nights and weekends, and opportunities to exceed 15 hours during summer camp weeks.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 to apply
- Must have reliable transportation
- Interest in being outdoors
- Interest in working with children
- Availability and ability to work night and weekend events
- Ability to work most shifts outdoors
- Ability to learn quickly and listen to instructions
- Ability to work in group settings
- Experience with public speaking
- Be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs
- Be able to read, write, and follow oral and written instructions
- Be insurable by park district insurance to operate vehicles
- Pass a pre-employment background screen
