Job Summary
Process patient medication refill requests and prior authorizations; educate patients on refill policies; document refills in patients' medical records; manage refaxing of signed refill requests to pharmacies; retrieve and organize refill-related communications; present refill requests to providers in a timely manner; perform related duties such as preparing prior authorizations for intake medications and newborns' special formula; ensure compliance with DAP Health policies and maintain effective teamwork; on-site at DAP Health clinics (Desert Hot Springs and travel to San Diego/Coachella locations) with availability for varying shifts; requires medical assistant certificate or equivalent training, two years of medical assistant experience, and current BLS certification; bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
Required Qualifications
- Medical assistant certificate or signed training on venipuncture, infectious control, patient privacy, basic anatomy and physiology by Registered Nurse or Physician
- Two-year medical assistant work experience
- Current BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
