Job Summary
Specialized Child and Youth Support Worker in a two-to-one residential setting serving neurodiverse youth with developmental disabilities and mental health needs. Responsible for delivering person-centered care, implementing safety and behavior support plans, maintaining documentation (daily logs, incident reports, emails), assisting with daily living tasks (meal prep, medication administration, personal care, life skills development), modeling positive behavior, coordinating transportation for community activities, attending team meetings, contributing to program development, and liaising with family and care teams. Requires trauma-informed approach, de-escalation and crisis management skills, English communication, and ability to follow health and safety policies. Role includes 32-hour schedule across days including evenings and weekends; opportunity for permanent placement after 3 months.
Required Qualifications
- Class 5 BC Driver's License with clean abstract
- Minimum of 1-year of experience (or combination of education and experience)
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- MANDT Training offered in house
- Food Safe Certificate
- Criminal Record Clearance
- Out of Country Police Clearance Certificate (if lived outside Canada 6+ months)
- 3 professional references
