Job Summary
House Manager for a rotating-daytime and evening schedule in a residential setting offering transitional housing to women-identified refugee claimants in Hamilton. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day house operations, coordinating activities, providing resident support, crisis response, confidential information handling, and maintaining the overall condition of the house. Additional duties include administrative tasks (submitting work orders, liaising with maintenance, scheduling pest treatments, updating residents), coordinating with management, and supporting program needs. Requires post-secondary education in social services or related field (or lived experience), CPR/First Aid and WHMIS, a valid G license, ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, and fluency in an additional language. Emphasizes alignment with health and safety regulations and the organization’s mission and values.
Required Qualifications
- Post secondary education in social services or related field, and/or lived experience
- CPR/First Aid certification
- WHMIS training
- Valid G license
- Fluency in a language in addition to English
- Demonstrated experience working with diverse groups
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to address crises and problem-solve effectively
- Experience with resident support services and administrative tasks (work orders, maintenance liaison, scheduling)
- Understanding of settlement issues affecting women, homelessness, poverty, mental illness and substance use/abuse
