Job Summary
Conduct daily accounting functions including processing accounts payable, entering cash receipts, and performing month-end reconciliations for general ledger and bank accounts. Prepare assigned close tasks, maintain supporting schedules, and assist with annual audits, grant reporting, and financial report preparation in compliance with GAAP. Review accounts receivable, payroll expenditures, and expense allocations while ensuring accurate record-keeping and maintaining internal controls for revenue and program budgets. Collaborate with the Controller and Finance Team on budget processes and audit readiness, providing cross-coverage during busy periods. This part-time, remote role averages 15 hours weekly with flexible scheduling to support deadlines, reporting to the Controller.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, or an AA in Accounting with equivalent work experience
- At least 2–4 years of professional accounting experience
- Working knowledge of general accounting and financial reporting procedures in accordance with GAAP
- Working knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Online
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook)
- Advanced Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables, and linked complex workbooks)
- Strong data entry accuracy, efficiency, and a detail-oriented, analytical approach to work
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills; proven ability to multitask, set priorities, and meet deadlines with limited supervision
- Ability to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information using sound judgment
- Ability to work successfully in a collaborative, team-oriented organization

- Highly motivated, resourceful, and flexible; possessing a positive attitude and sense of humor, even under pressure
- Able to proficiently speak, read, write, and understand English

- Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs
- Availability during core business hours, generally between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Pacific Time
