Job Summary
Assist the Assistant Horticulturist with natural resource stewardship, hazard tree management, and landscape install and maintenance. Operate equipment including chainsaws, brush cutters, pole saws, tractors, and skid steers for brush removal, piling, and native seed collection. Support prescribed fire implementation, invasive species control, and timber stand improvement while documenting hazard tree assessments and mitigations. Requires at least three months of recreational or agricultural experience and chainsaw operation skills. This temporary role supports the Game & Parks Commission in preserving Nebraska's natural resources.
Required Qualifications
- At least three months experience working in a recreational area, scenic attraction, hospitality, historical, retail or customer service setting, agricultural setting, or related coursework/training
- Experience in operation and maintenance of chainsaws
