Job Summary
Provide routine daily nursing care and services to assigned residents in accordance with their approved care plans and facility directives. Record all entries on flow sheets, notes, and charts using authorized abbreviations, and report changes in resident condition or observed accidents to the Nurse Supervisor/Charge Nurse immediately. Greet residents, escort them to rooms, and assist with packing possessions during transfers or discharges. Ensure resident rooms are prepared for admission with beds made, name tags up, and admission kits available. Demonstrate the skills necessary to provide care appropriate to age-related needs while working as a supportive team member. Pass a basic math assessment and read, write, speak, and understand English.
Required Qualifications
- Must be able to demonstrate the skills needed to be a temporary nurse aide to a facility Registered Nurse
- Must be able to pass a basic math assessment
- Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
- Must demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents served
- Must be a supportive team member, contribute to and be an example of team work and team concept
- Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
- Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the general public
- Must possess the ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel
- Must have patience, tact, a cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult residents
