Job Summary
Mental Health Specialist II provides direct clinical assessment, develops and maintains treatment plans, conducts collateral discussions with families, and assists with discharge planning. Responsibilities include interviewing clients, coordinating with mental health professionals to determine needs, visiting clients in various living situations, monitoring progress, reporting changes to designated staff, and responding to potential suicide or emergency events within the TAY Crisis Residential Treatment program (CRT) for Transitional Age Youth (18-25). Requires a Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or related field, and licensure/registration as an AMFT, APCC, or ACSW, with First Aid certification and a CA Driver’s License. The role operates within SBHG’s CRT facility offering 24/7 services and a range of therapeutic and supports aimed at stabilizing residents and aiding transition back to the community.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in psychology, social work, or another related mental health field
- Registered with the Board of Behavioral Science as an Associate - ACSW, APCC, AMFT
- Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT) or Associate Clinical Social Worker (ACSW)
- First Aid certification from persons qualified by agencies including but not limited to the American Red Cross
- Valid California Driver’s License
- Must be at least 18 years old
