Job Summary
Temporary Medical Assistant to support clinicians and clinic staff at DAP Health in Cathedral City, CA. Provides basic clinical procedures to non-acute patients, assists with patient flow and care coordination, prepares charts and exam rooms, collects specimens and vitals, performs simple lab tasks (blood sugars, urine dips), administers medications as directed, and maintains safety, infection control, and PHI/privacy standards. Requires medical assistant certificate or trained venipuncture/infection control/patient privacy basics, BLS, and EPIC EHR experience; bilingual Spanish preferred. On-site role with ability to travel to DAP Health locations in San Diego and the Coachella Valley; evening/weekend availability and valid driver’s license required. Demonstrates professional demeanor, teamwork, and adherence to standard care practices to ensure high-quality patient care. Supervisory responsibilities: none.
Required Qualifications
- Medical assistant certificate or signed training on venipuncture, infectious control, patient privacy, basic anatomy and physiology by Registered Nurse or Physician
- Current BLS certification obtained through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- National or CA Medical Assistant Certification, preferred
- Graduation from an approved Medical Assistant program
- One year’s work experience Medical Assistant in a medical office preferred
- Experience with the EPIC EHR system preferred
