Temporary Maintenance Technician - Bilingual in Spanish

Job Summary
Complete grounds cleanup, preventative maintenance, repairs, apartment turnovers, and janitorial tasks while adhering to a 3-month temporary schedule. Perform repairs including painting, carpentry, and minor plumbing, electrical, or HVAC work; secure, clean, and treat units for bed bugs during turnovers. Maintain exterior common areas, lawns, and parking zones, then provide on-call emergency service and complete incident reports. Document all activities in the Yardi system, submit purchase orders, and conduct triannual unit inspections. Advise the Property Manager on property hazards and follow through with 504 Self Evaluation repairs.
Required Qualifications
- High School degree or equivalent
- Technical training/experience in a building trade
- Bilingual in Spanish
- 2 years or more in skilled maintenance work
- Ability to lift, push, pull, climb, and extensive walking
- Ability to drive a car (and hold a valid driver's license)
- Ability to read, write, do basic math, and follow instructions
- Ability to use maintenance, trade and testing equipment and tools
- Ability to operate snow removal equipment
- Ability to maintain a professional personal appearance
- Ability to follow fair housing laws and regulations
- Ability to lift, push, pull objects weighing more than 100 lbs.
- Ability to lift/carry objects weighing more than 50 lbs. but less than 100 lbs.
- Ability to walk, stand, squat, drive, and remain in uncomfortable positions for periods of time
- Ability to read fine print on plans, regulatory documents, maintenance coding, and instructions
- Ability to distinguish normal sounds with some background noise
- Ability to speak clearly and hear and understand others using the English language
- Ability to concentrate on moderate detail with moderate interruption
- Ability to attend to a task/function for more than 60 minutes at a time
- Ability to understand and relate to specific ideas several at a time
- Ability to remember multiple tasks/assignments given to self and others over a period of several days
- Ability to operate power tools, hand tools, lawnmower, and other garden tools, snowblower, cleaning equipment, circuit tester, paint sprayer
- Ability to use a computer for using work order software, email, completing timesheets/requesting time off, and web access
