Job Summary
Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – 0.7 FTE Days (7am to 3pm) in a long-term care setting. Supervisory role under the guidance of an RN. Responsible for assessing, monitoring, implementing, evaluating, and documenting Resident care; admissions/discharges; communicates with Residents, families, and staff; reports changes to RN; administers medications including narcotics with double checks; administers insulin and other injections with appropriate verification; supervises care team and enforces infection control and OH&S. Must maintain current CLPNA registration and complete competency requirements; vaccination up to date per policy.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate from an accredited School of Licensed Practical Nurses
- Current Registration with the College of Licensed Practical Nurses of Alberta
- Certified for administration of oral medications, narcotics, and subcutaneous injections
- Completion of Physical Assessment Course
- Intramuscular injection course and certification in CPR is preferred
- RAI/MDS COMPETENCY IS REQUIRED
