Job Summary
Report to Dispatch daily to receive work assignments and perform all tasks adhering to OSHA and H&K Safety policies. Load and unload equipment and tools using provided checklists, maintaining in-depth understanding of operation and safety requirements for all machinery. Understand diamond blade usage, bonds, and performance, reporting usage daily, and clean up slurry as required. Tag damaged equipment and place it in the proper repair area. Complete other duties as assigned, including operating walk-behind saws, air compressors, jackhammers, and core drilling machines safely. This temporary position runs from August 2026 to January 2026 and may lead to a full-time role. Required Qualifications
- One month of related experience as a highway saw cutter or relevant training
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
- Able to understand and measure linear footage and record measurements
- Proficient written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to fit test & utilize appropriate PPE as needed
- Ability to meet physical requirements (movement, lifting, as relevant to job)
- One year of experience as a highway saw cutter
- Experience working in heavy civil construction, road construction, or quarries
- OSHA, MSHA, or other relevant safety certifications
- Lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
- Distance vision ability
- Depth perception
- Ability to adjust focus
Desired Qualifications
- One-year certificate from an accredited college or technical school in a related field
- Experience operating 35-65 horsepower walk-behind saws safely
- Experience operating air compressors, jackhammers, sandblasters, and 2-cycle hand saws safely
- Experience operating seal pot and properly install sealing material safely
- Experience operating core drilling and/or dowel drilling machine safely
