Job Summary
Temporary Laboratory/Research Technician in the Department of Entomology. Performs routine mosquito biology research, including rearing and maintaining mosquito colonies, conducting molecular assays, identifying species, data recording and analysis, and assisting with laboratory operations. Must have a High School Diploma with 2+ years of lab experience, strong organizational and communication skills, ability to work independently, handle chemicals safely, lift 20-50 pounds, and be able to work irregular hours. On-site position in Ithaca, NY for a six-month term with hourly pay; no visa sponsorship or relocation assistance provided. Preferred qualifications include an Associate’s Degree and additional biology coursework, experience with R, RNA extraction, mosquito rearing, and dissections.
