Job Summary
Conduct front desk operations, youth sports refereeing, and program setup at the Northwest Recreation Center. Manage childcare logistics including bus driving and field trips, or oversee fitness classes and adult leagues. Perform lifeguard duties or instruct swim lessons, adhering to specific shift blocks for mornings, afternoons, nights, and weekends. Complete paid training and pass required background checks and swim screenings. Work as a temporary, at-will employee with a maximum average of 29 hours per week.
Required Qualifications
- Willingness to learn
- Must be able to stand, walk, and sit for long periods of time
- Must pass a swim screening test
- Must be able to lift heavy weight for short periods of time
- Must be 15+ years old
- Must be able to work with children ages 3-14
- Must be able to provide a safe learning environment and follow program standards
- Must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program
Additional Requirements
- Applicants must be at least 15 years old for lifeguards and 16 years old for swim instructors
