Job Summary
Facilitate a safe and fun environment for youth and adults through aquatics, sports officiating, summer camps, and drop-in daycare coverage. Conduct swim lessons, lead water aerobics and arthritis aerobics classes, and supervise youth sports leagues including soccer, baseball, basketball, volleyball, and track. Manage summer camp shifts from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm, Monday through Friday, or cover specific daycare hours. Maintain facility safety as a lifeguard or trainee, ensuring compliance with background check requirements and age restrictions. Work an average of 29 hours or less per week in a supportive, flexible work environment at Holladay Lions Recreation Center.
Required Qualifications
- Must be at least 15 years old
- Must be at least 16 years of age
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must have primary group certification
- Must have arthritis instructor certification
- Must have a current primary group certification
- Must have current CPR
- Must pass a required background check through fingerprinting
- Must enroll in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program
- Must work an average of 29 hours or less per week
- Must work an average of 129 hours or less per month
- Must comply with SLCo Parks & Recreation 'Conditions of Employment' guidelines for age 14/15 employees
- Must be an 'at will' employee
- Must be an FLSA non-exempt employee
- Must not be eligible for County benefits
