Job Summary
Conduct lifeguard duties, instruct swim lessons, coach swim teams, referee sports events, lead group fitness classes, manage drop-in childcare, provide customer service, and perform custodial or building attendant tasks at the Gene Fullmer Recreation Center. Maintain lifeguard certification and complete required training. Pass a mandatory background check including fingerprinting and RAP enrollment. Work an average of 29 hours or less per week as an at-will, non-exempt employee without county benefits.
Required Qualifications
- Age 16+
- Age 14+
- Age 18+
- Must pass a required background check through fingerprinting and enrollment in the continuous RAP Back (Record of Arrest and Prosecution Back) program
- Must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month
- Are not eligible for County benefits except as otherwise provided for by policy
- Are not considered merit employees
- Are 'at will' employees who may be terminated for any reason, without notice, and without a pre-termination hearing
