Job Summary
Provide direct academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with special needs within inclusive classrooms and small groups. Implement data-driven push services (RSP) by assisting with testing, homework, program reviews, and IEP accommodations while collecting daily behavior data for interpretation. Facilitate student engagement, de-escalation, and redirection to foster a safe learning environment, and record all supports in Welligent on a weekly basis. Direct parent inquiries to credentialed staff and assist with lesson conduct under supervision.
Required Qualifications
- Must complete 12 semester units and/or 18 quarter units and be currently enrolled for the same units or possess a BA/BS degree required
- Prior experience working with students with special needs in a learning environment
- Proficient with Microsoft Suite: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Proficient in data collection
- Strong math skills
- Knowledge of behavior intervention strategies
- Must be flexible and team-oriented
- Able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
- Strong work ethic, accountability, and ownership of work
- Regular attendance, dependability, and punctuality in conformance with the standards are essential to the successful performance of this position
- Occasionally required to kneel, climb, and reach with hands and arms above shoulder level, lift up to 30 pounds
- To bend, sit, stand, squat, stoop, walk, push, pull, and reach with hands and arms at shoulder level or below
- Always required to wear the appropriate safety equipment for the task, which may include gloves, goggles, aprons, belts, etc.
