Temporary High School Counselor - .5 FTE - Klamath Union 2026-2027 School Year Only

Klamath Union High School is seeking a compassionate and student-centered part-time High School Counselor to support the academic, social-emotional, and college/career development of students for the 2026-2027 school year. Responsibilities include providing academic counseling (course selection, credit tracking, graduation planning), supporting students’ social-emotional development (individual and small group counseling), assisting with college and career planning (postsecondary options, applications, financial aid, scholarships), collaborating with CTE staff to support career pathways, monitoring progress and intervening for at-risk students, developing and implementing student support plans (504 Plans, MTSS), responding to crises and providing referrals, coordinating with families and teachers and external agencies, maintaining accurate student records in compliance with FERPA, delivering classroom guidance lessons on academic planning, mental health, and career readiness, supporting school-wide climate initiatives, and participating in IEP meetings as appropriate. Qualifications emphasize a Master’s degree in School Counseling, Oregon licensure, and a strong focus on equity and collaboration; work occurs primarily in an office/school setting with potential extended hours during peak periods.
