Job Summary
Temporary Health Care Aide (HCA) position, 0.7 FTE on the day shift (7am–3pm) at Devonshire Care Centre in Edmonton, AB. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse and Licensed Practical Nurse and supervision by the Resident Care Manager, the HCA provides direct personal and nursing care, assists with restorative care, ambulation, feeding, bathing, grooming, and meal service; observes and reports changes in residents’ physical and emotional condition and maintains care-plan records. Qualifications include graduation from an approved HCA/PSW program and active CLHA registration; a current/clear criminal-record check is required. Preferred experience with seniors or chronic-care residents and willingness to complete specialty courses (e.g., Alzheimer’s). Strong English communication, attention to detail, problem-solving, time-management, and customer-service skills are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an approved Health Care Aide or Personal Support Worker course or equivalent, as recognized by Alberta Health Services.
- Active CLHA Registration is required.
- Current and clear criminal records check is required for all new employees.
