Job Summary
Specialized Child/Youth Support Worker in North Vancouver providing 2:1 resident care for neurodiverse youth with developmental delays and mental health challenges. Primary duties include delivering person-centered care, implementing safety and behavior support plans, maintaining documentation (tracking sheets, daily logs, incident reports, communications), assisting with daily household tasks and life skills, modeling positive behavior, facilitating community outings, attending team meetings, and contributing to program development. The role requires collaboration with the care team and family, de-escalation and crisis-management skills, trauma-informed understanding, and the ability to transport youth to appointments and activities. Must possess a Class 5 BC Driver's License, 1+ year of relevant experience, and relevant certifications (First Aid, CPR, MANDT, Food Safe) along with criminal record clearances and references. Schedule is Saturday-Wednesday 2pm-10pm (40 hours); employment type is Full-Time, Temporary with potential to become permanent after 3 months; start date July 8, 2026; pay rate $27.54/hour. Required Qualifications
- Class 5 BC Driver's License required and clean driver's abstract
- Minimum of 1-year of experience (or combination of education and experience)
- Positive Behaviour Management Training
- Criminal Record Clearance, Ministry of Justice and Ministry of Children and Family Development
- Out of Country Police Clearance Certificate (if you have lived outside of Canada for 6 months or more)
- First Aid and CPR Certificate
- MANDT Training will be offered in house
- Food Safe Certificate
- 3 professional references
- The physical ability to perform all active duties required of the position
