Job Summary
Health Care Aide providing assistance to residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, hygiene, mobility, transferring, eating, and toileting, as well as medication assistance and tasks delegated by a Registered Nurse. The role involves companionship, support with dining room service, performing delegated tasks after training, light housekeeping, and maintaining resident care records within a unionized, temporary daytime-to-night shift (40 hours/week, Tuesday–Saturday, 2330–0730) in Kamloops, BC. Requires Care Aide certification, registration, and related experience; vaccination and safety requirements (First Aid, WHMIS) and ability to work flexible hours. The position emphasizes resident dignity, confidentiality, and coordination with Assisted Living Leaders and Bedford Manor staff.
Required Qualifications
- Care Aide/Community Health Worker certificate
- Registered with the BC Care Aide & Community Health Worker Registry
- One (1) year recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Criminal Records Checks
- Emergency First Aid (Certificates accepted in B.C. - WorkSafeBC)
- WHMIS
- Proof of vaccination for communicable diseases may be required as mandated by Government, Health Authority, and/or funder requirements
