Job Summary
Greet and direct patients, callers, and visitors while managing front office reception, scheduling, and registration. Process patient check-outs, billing support, and referrals using EHR systems and third-party payer portals. Maintain accurate medical records and process information releases in compliance with HIPAA and NVIH policies. Collaborate with clinical teams to prepare appointment documentation and screen registration data. Provide cordial customer service and adhere to privacy protocols throughout all interactions. This temporary full-time role at Northern Valley Indian Health supports the clinic's mission of intrinsic goodwill.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent, General Education Diploma (GED)
- One (1)-year Customer Service or clerical office experience
- Proven ability to provide excellent customer service by anticipating customer needs and leaving them feeling satisfied with their experience
- Able to effectively communicate both verbal and written
- Demonstrates a high level of interpersonal skills
- Time management skills
- Ability to meet established priorities for own work within stated guidelines both independently and in a team environment
- Knowledge of healthcare insurance systems including Medi-Cal, Private Insurance, and Fee-for-Service
- Computer skills that provide the ability to efficiently use the computer systems to complete duties such as scheduling, updating information, and word processing and tracking documents, including the electronic health record system
- Familiarity with HIPAA/HITECH regulations and other privacy laws and regulations
- Reliable Transportation
