Job Summary

Temporary part-time Community Support Worker in the South Calgary area for Calgary Alternative Support Services. The CSW supports adults with disabilities to build empowerment and independence, helping clients develop and monitor goals per their Individual Support Plan (ISP); assist with daily living skills, community inclusion, recreation, and health-related matters as directed by the client coordinator. Duties include maintaining professional boundaries, building positive relationships with clients and guardians, completing timely paperwork (monthly timesheets, expenses, client summaries, hazard reports, incident reports), participating in Health & Safety programs, and adhering to program policies. Key skills include confidentiality, strong verbal and written communications, adaptability, patience, and the ability to support development of independence. Required qualifications include Basic First Aid/Emergency First Aid with CPR/AED, Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sectors, a vehicle and valid driver’s license; post-secondary education in Human Services is noted as needed. The role requires in-person work in Calgary/Aberta and hours total 19.5 per week (Mon/Wed/Fri, 09:00-15:00).

Required Qualifications

  • Post secondary education in Human Services
  • A current Basic First Aid/Emergency First Aid certification that includes CPR/AED
  • A current Police Information Check with a Vulnerable Sectors Search that is satisfactory to CASS
  • A vehicle and valid driver's license are required
