Job Summary
Temporary Community Ambassador Coordinator in Poughkeepsie, NY, supporting a 14-month community planning initiative focused on the Fall Kill Creek corridor. Role involves canvassing, conducting surveys, gathering input from residents, expanding neighborhood participation (especially among historically underrepresented groups), documenting community stories and concerns, hosting and staffing outreach activities (door-to-door canvassing, tabling, phone banking, small-group conversations), debriefing with ambassadors, inviting residents to workshops and public meetings, and communicating community priorities to Scenic Hudson and MASS Design planning teams. Ideal candidate has a background in community organizing, strong interpersonal skills, bilingual English/Spanish preferred, comfortable with in-person engagement, and reliable availability for evening/weekend events. Compensation is $22.00 per hour for a part-time schedule (approximately 10-15 hours/month) from June 2026 to May 2027, with training and ongoing mentorship provided.
