Job Summary
Performs entry-level child support investigations to locate absent parents, establish paternity, and enforce court orders. Prepares documents relating to legal and administrative actions, negotiates lump-sum payments from noncustodial parents, and monitors ongoing cases. Documents all case actions using TXCSES and the Enterprise Content Management (ECM) repository; reviews cases for closure eligibility. Requires strong interviewing and investigative skills, computer proficiency, and the ability to communicate effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Graduation from standard senior high school or equivalent
- Experience in interviewing and collections related to child support
- Knowledge of child support laws, policies, principles, and practices; and of investigative practices and techniques
- Skill in interviewing and conducting investigations; and in operation of computers and applicable computer software
- Ability to detect and resolve error conditions, to select and transcribe data, and to communicate effectively
