Temporary Associate Scientist (6-month Assignment)

Job Summary
Execute laboratory experiments including ELISA and lateral flow assays, perform sample preparation, and maintain accurate records in electronic lab notebooks. Assist with stage-gate product development by running experiments for assay development, validation, and transfer while adhering to internal quality standards. Analyze experimental data using Excel, identify trends, and present findings to peers during team reviews. Collaborate with cross-functional teams in R&D, Quality Assurance, and Manufacturing to contribute to documentation, test plans, and SOPs. Follow safety policies and regulated material handling procedures for seed stewardship. This 6-month temporary assignment requires a Bachelor's degree in a life science field and basic laboratory experience.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry, Immunology, Molecular Biology, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- Hand-on laboratory experience (academic or internship)
- Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Accountability, reliability, and attention to detail in daily work and documentation
- Basic analytical and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication skills within a team environment and communicate clearly
- Ability to follow instructions and learn new techniques quickly
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and grow
- Positive attitude and collaborative work ethic
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with assay development, diagnostics, or applied research
- Foundational knowledge of immunoassays and antibody-antigen interactions
- Exposure to validation, verification, or quality systems
- Familiarity with regulated environments and documentation standards
- Experience with electronic lab notebooks and Smartsheet (or similar project management tools)
