Job Summary
Temporary Manager in Training at Lush North America (Mayfair Victoria, Victoria, BC) overseeing store operations and customer experience under the Store Manager as second-in-command. Responsibilities include driving sales and delivering an exceptional customer experience, building the brand by communicating values such as Fighting Animal Testing, Freshest Cosmetics, Ethical Buying and Handmade products, leading and developing staff, coordinating staffing, scheduling, and training, ensuring operational excellence in opening/closing procedures, inventory, and visual merchandising, and supporting recruitment and talent development in the market. Requires 1-3 years of retail supervisory experience, strong communication and listening skills, analytical and problem-solving abilities, organization and time management, and flexibility to work holidays, evenings, and weekends. Knowledge of skincare/natural beauty and DEIB is preferred, with additional language skills (e.g., Spanish or French) considered a plus.
Required Qualifications
- 1-3 years managing or supervising in a retail environment
- Excellent listening and communication skills
- Excellent analytical, critical thinking and troubleshooting skills
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong customer service, supervisory and sales skills
- Knowledge and interest in skincare, natural beauty and ethical business
- Ability to work flexible hours to meet the needs of the shop including holidays, evenings and weekends
- Preferred: Experience with consultation-based customer service models
- Preferred: Ability to develop and train staff through positive coaching and feedback
- Preferred: Proficient in excel, Microsoft suite, and adaptable to other systems as required
- Preferred: Basic HR skills in hiring, scheduling, training, and performance management
- Preferred: Experience in cross cultural collaboration and DEIB or social justice training
- Preferred: Fluency in Spanish, French or other languages
