Job Summary
Apply legislative expectations to support a program consistent with Ministry of Education requirements and the organization's program statement. Engage with children to provide a positive, play-based learning experience while assisting with meals, toileting, dressing, and other care tasks. Complete program charts, daily logs, reports, and administration tasks using Storypark for pedagogical documentation. Foster ongoing communication with parents and collaborate with team members, school personnel, and outside agencies to support children's needs. Identify children requiring additional support and guide parents through accessing resources and implementing individual support plans. Participate in professional development, staff meetings, and training sessions as required.
Required Qualifications
- A recent Vulnerable Sector Check
- Health assessment and record of immunization, as outlined by legislation
- Up-to-date certification in CPR-C and Standard First Aid
- Basic knowledge of the developmental needs of children and demonstrated ability to apply this knowledge
- Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation
- Experience with the use of pedagogical documentation
- Ability to use computer systems and programs; including Dayforce, and Storypark
- Moderate level of physical effort is regularly required; including but not limited to kneeling, pushing, pulling, bending, and carrying
- Must be available to work a 8-hour shift Monday-Friday
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with inquiry/play based program design and implementation, and with the use of pedagogical documentation an asset
