Job Summary
Join Logan Simpson as a Temporary Archaeological Field Technician responsible for participating in pedestrian archaeological surveys under the supervision of a field director or crew lead. Applicants should have education or experience in the Great Basin or Southwest and be able to identify archaeological artifacts. The role requires working outdoors in challenging conditions, walking extensive distances, and potential overnight fieldwork. Proficiency with electronic devices and teamwork skills are essential. Compensation is hourly, with additional per diem benefits for non-local work.
Required Qualifications
- Education and/or experience in the Great Basin or Southwest
- Ability to identify archaeological artifacts and features
- Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and in remote locations
- Ability to walk up to 10 miles per day over steep terrain
- Willingness to work field sessions up to 8 days in a row
- Proficiency with electronic devices for digital data collection
- Ability to work cooperatively with crew members and supervisors
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (in process or complete) in Anthropology or Archaeology
- Completion of an accredited field school
