Job Summary

Temporary 4-month, full-time Animal Attendant at Cornell Ruffian Equine Specialists (CRES) to work with faculty clinicians, Licensed Veterinary Technicians, Interns and Residents across the hospital. Responsibilities include restraining patients for procedures, assisting in surgery, helping in radiology/imaging, assisting in the barn (cleaning stalls, feeding, grooming), and maintaining professional communication with staff, students, technicians, veterinarians, and clients. Requires ability to meet physical demands (prolonged standing, kneeling, lifting, restraining large animals) and rabies pre-exposure vaccinations with titer (cost covered by the department). Schedule includes day, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts; 4-month duration; onsite in Elmont, NY; 40 hours/week. Benefits information available through Cornell.

Required Qualifications

  • High School diploma and at least a year of equine handling experience and/or animal husbandry in a hospital/clinical setting or equivalent combination of education and experience
