Job Summary
Operate the tempering oven, air quench, and water quench to ensure high-quality glass output while adjusting temperatures and regulating glass speed. Quickly clear quenches of broken glass, maintain mandatory PPE including face shields and steel-toe boots, and keep work areas attended at all times. Record all rejects, perform general clean-up, replace rollers and rubber rings, and assist maintenance with minor component replacements. Collaborate with Final Inspectors, Quality Assurance, and Production Supervisors to resolve line problems. Requires high school diploma, six months of experience, and ability to perform math calculations and read safety documents. Schedule is 6:00am to 4:00pm, Monday through Thursday, with Fridays and Saturdays possible, including mandatory overtime.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- six months of experience or appropriate training
- one year of experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, work instructions and professional literature
- Ability to speak some English
- Ability to write routine reports and make daily reports that involve mathematical skills
- Ability to add, subtracts, multiply, divide and calculate percentages as well as to plot common graphs
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in either written, oral or diagram form
