Job Summary
Install and terminate low-voltage temperature control and BAS components, including controllers, sensors, actuators, and field devices. Mount control panels according to project specifications and perform system startup, commissioning, checkout, and functional testing. Diagnose and resolve complex issues on new and existing BAS and HVAC control systems while supporting service calls, upgrades, and preventative maintenance. Review control sequences, electrical schematics, and customer requirements to ensure accurate implementation. Document completed work and communicate technical findings and system changes to stakeholders. Requires 5+ years of experience with major BAS platforms like Johnson Controls or Siemens, BACnet communications, and Niagara N4. Valid driver's license and ability to travel to customer sites required.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience working with temperature controls, building automation systems, or HVAC controls
- Strong understanding of HVAC equipment operation, control strategies, and system integration
- Hands-on experience with one or more major BAS platforms such as Johnson Controls, Distech, Siemens, Trane, Carrier, KMC, Automated Logic, or similar systems
- Experience commissioning, servicing, and troubleshooting commercial building automation systems with minimal supervision
- Solid knowledge of low-voltage control wiring, including analog and digital circuits
- Experience working with BACnet communications (IP and MS/TP)
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, control drawings, and sequences of operation
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to identify root causes and implement effective solutions
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work independently in the field
- Valid driver's license
- Ability to travel to customer sites
Desired Qualifications
- Niagara N4 experience or certification preferred
