Job Summary
Reports to the unit Claims Supervisor and is responsible for managing an assigned inventory of claim files to conclusion. Core duties include three-point contact with claimants, employers, and treating physicians within 24 hours; thorough evidence gathering to establish compensability and disability/expense reasoning; maintaining up-to-date action plans for indemnity claims; partnering with medical case managers to maximize early return to work; initiating referrals to SIU for suspected fraud; aggressively pursuing subrogation and apportionment; ensuring compliance with statutes and service contracts; reviewing vocational rehabilitation plans; establishing and adjusting monetary reserves per authority; reviewing medical bills prior to payment; and delivering professional, courteous service while handling inquiries promptly. Requires working knowledge of the California Labor Code as it relates to workers’ compensation claims and litigation management; performs other duties as assigned. Education and experience requirements include a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent with 3-5 years related experience and SIP certification flexibility; salary range listed is $28.00 - $40.00 per hour (annualized to $58,240 - $83,200 depending on hours and location); benefits include medical/dental/vision, HSA/FSA contributions, life and disability insurance, 401(k) with match, PTO/holidays, and development opportunities. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (B. A.) or equivalent from four-year college or; or 3-5years related experience& training, 5 years without a SIP certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
