Job Summary
Emergency Department RN role providing and coordinating nursing care for patients under supervision. Responsibilities include performing multi-system assessments, developing and implementing individualized care plans, coordinating discharge planning, delegating patient care activities appropriately, accurate EMR documentation, administering medications per protocol, and responding to emergency situations. Requires 9+ months RN experience, ED experience or Kaiser New Grad ED internship, Oregon RN license, and certifications such as BLS and ACLS with additional requirements including NIH Stroke Scale and Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course; preferred credentials include CEN, TNCC, and a BSN. Strong collaboration with healthcare team and effective communication are essential.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience
- One (1) year of current ED experience or successful completion of the Kaiser Permanente New Grad Internship Program in the ED
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within 6 months of hire OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Basic Life Support required at hire
- NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire
