TEMP Emergency Department RN (24Hr/Days)

Job Summary
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care for emergency department patients by performing accurate multi-system assessments, identifying deviations in lab diagnostics, and coordinating activities with other health care disciplines. Develop individual nursing plans of care, delegate tasks based on patient acuity, and correctly administer medications while documenting all care in the EMR. Initiate protocol-based measures for medical and surgical patients, including emergency interventions, and participate in unit quality assurance activities. Requires nine months of RN experience with one year of current ED experience; holds Oregon RN license and must complete Pediatric Nursing Course, APLS, and NIH Stroke Scale within three to six months of hire.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum nine (9) months of RN experience
- One (1) year of current ED experience or successful completion of the Kaiser Permanente New Grad Internship Program in the ED
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course within 6 months of hire OR Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hire
- Registered Nurse License (Oregon)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- Basic Life Support required at hire
- Computer keyboarding skills
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course
Desired Qualifications
- Previous health care experience
- Bachelors degree in nursing or related field
- CEN preferred
- TNCC preferred
- Demonstrated ability to recognize and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias preferred
- A desire and ability to function within the nursing process preferred
- A desire and ability to function within professional and personnel standards as defined
- Ability to use and apply effective communication and interpersonal relationship skills preferred
