Job Summary
The Bus Driver transports passengers along established routes on a scheduled timetable, ensuring safe, timely transportation while complying with DOT and other regulations. Responsibilities include reporting vehicle defects, performing basic vehicle maintenance, communicating with dispatch, loading/unloading passengers, conducting pre/post trip inspections, managing logs and timesheets, and occasionally operating other vehicles. Requires map-reading ability, proficiency in English, flexible hours (including nights, weekends, holidays), and willingness to undergo drug/alcohol testing and background checks. Emphasizes safety, professionalism, and adherence to regulatory requirements in both indoor/outdoor work environments.
Required Qualifications
- Must possess and present a valid state Real I.D. Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger endorsement and current DOT Medical Card.
- Must have a clean driving record.
- Must be 21 years of age or older.
- Must conduct pre and post Preventative Maintenance Checks and Services.
- Must maintain logs of working hours, following applicable regulations and requirements.
- Must be able to read a map.
- Must be able to speak, write, read, understand English, and follow written/verbal directions.
- Must be willing to work flexible hours to accommodate requirements, sometimes under short notice, to include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Overtime may be required.
- Employee must complete timesheets daily, ensuring accurate data, both manually and via required system.
- Must submit to and pass random drug and/or alcohol testing.
- Must perform other duties in accordance with requirements as directed.
- Security Requirements: Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to pass a National Criminal Background Check
