Job Summary
TEM Engineer in Micron's DTG TEM lab in Boise, ID, performing daily FIB lamella preparation and TEM analysis (microstructure and chemical analysis via EDS/EELS), collaborating with process development to optimize lab procedures and support new part/module development. Responsibilities include advancing FIB/TEM techniques with emphasis on AI/automation for TEM data acquisition and processing, and providing clear guidance to shift teams; requires PhD with strong TEM, FIB, data-science skills and teamwork.
Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Physics, or a semiconductor-related fields
- Strong analytical TEM expertise, including atomic‐resolution STEM, EELS, and 4D‐STEM
- Hands‐on experience in FIB sample preparation
- Strong data science skills applied to TEM workflows (e.g., data processing, automation, modeling, or machine‐learning–based analysis) with proficient programming skills using GMS scripts and/or Python
- Strong teamwork mindset with a collaborative, solution‐oriented approach
