Job Summary
Build and grow customer relationships through quality, personalized interactions centered on accurate cash handling, speed of service, and superior problem resolution. Process deposits, withdrawals, check cashing requests, and credit card advances while safeguarding the bank's assets and ensuring security. Maintain and balance a cash drawer with extensive cash handling, verify endorsements, and identify counterfeit currency. Examine checks for proper funds availability and complete hold notices per regulatory requirements. Handle service charge questions, account maintenance, and referrals. Assist in managing operational loss by seeking supervisory overrides and ensuring proper hold placement. Function in a mentor capacity to guide peers on policy and procedure. Adhere to professionalism standards and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local banking laws.
Required Qualifications
- 6 months cash handling, teller experience or customer service
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office and the ability to learn internal technology systems to perform work tasks
- Understanding of basic math concepts and cash counting
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Professional demeaner and superior problem-solving skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to communicate in person, on the phone, and through electronic channels
- Detail oriented – must be able to process transactions accurately and efficiently
- Ability to manage time and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer focus and relationship-building skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with all levels of an organization

Desired Qualifications
- Associates degree or higher preferred. Concentration in Business preferred
- Experience in maintaining and balancing a cash drawer or vault
- Previous banking experience or product/services referral experience strongly desired
