Teller/New Accounts Representative

Job Summary
Handle cash transactions, verify negotiable instruments, and balance ATMs and daily drawer activities. Open new consumer and business accounts by uncovering financial needs, recommending products, and guiding customers through on-boarding and self-service technologies. Conduct outbound sales activities by meeting local businesses and attending community events to drive visibility. Connect clients to loan, mortgage, and investment specialists while resolving service issues and following up via phone. Comply with federal, state, and local regulatory rules and complete assigned training. Work Monday through Friday in opening and closing shifts, with a requirement to live within 10 miles of the Houston, TX location.
Required Qualifications
- High school degree or higher
- Minimum 1 year of customer service and cash-handling experience
- Ability to work location hours, including some evenings
- Must live within 10 miles of the bank's location
- Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators
- Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day
- Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance
- Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation
- The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes
- Must be legally authorized to work in the US
