Job Summary
Greet customers and facilitate a welcoming environment while processing a variety of transactions, including receiving checks and cash for deposit, cashing checks, and entering transactions into the computer. Verify signatures and balances before paying out money, place holds on accounts for uncollected funds, and order daily cash supplies. Balance currency and coin in the cash drawer at shift end, count incoming cash, and generate receipts. Cross-sell bank products and services to current and prospective customers, receive mail deposits, and accept utility bills and loan payments. Perform backup duties for deposit operations as needed. This leveled position begins at Level 1 and advances to Level 3, with the Senior Teller role reserved for those eligible for branch leadership.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software
- Ability to lift and carry cash drawers, coin bags, and boxes sometimes weighing as much as 25 pounds
- Ability to effectively contribute to a positive team environment and work toward achieving goals
- Possesses a positive attitude
