Job Summary
Greets customers and facilitates a welcoming environment while processing a variety of customer transactions. Receives checks and cash for deposit, verifies amounts, and examines checks for endorsements before cashing checks and paying out money after signature and balance verification. Enters transactions into the computer to memo post and issues receipts, places holds on accounts for uncollected funds, and orders and counts daily cash supplies. Balances currency and coin in the cash drawer at shift end, generates new business through cross-selling, and receives deposits via mail including utility bills and loan payments. Cross-trained on all deposit operations to serve as a backup when necessary. This leveled position begins at Level 1 and advances to Level 3, focusing on product recommendations and customer service, with eligibility for the Team Incentive Plan.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- one to three months related experience and/or training
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
- Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent
- knowledge of Microsoft Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office software
- ability to lift and carry cash drawers, coin bags, and boxes sometimes weighing as much as 25 pounds
- Ability to effectively contribute to a positive team environment and work toward achieving goals
- Possesses a positive attitude
- Ability to attend training as required by GPB
