Job Summary
Process cash and check transactions with integrity while building relationships and understanding client needs. Accurately balance cash drawers, open and maintain accounts, and assist with loan applications and financial products like CDs and money market accounts. Identify client needs to refer them to appropriate banking professionals and explain security measures and banking procedures. Handle client concerns with professionalism, prevent fraud, and ensure compliance with regulations. Work behind the teller line, balancing the ability to stand for up to 75% of an eight-hour day and review details at close range.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of customer service experience in a business setting
- Minimum 1 year of cash-handling experience
- Teller experience preferred (6+ months)
- Strong customer service skills, including active listening and clear communication
- Experience recommending and referring financial products
- Solid understanding of compliance and fraud detection
- Ability to accurately balance a cash drawer
- Proficiency with computers, data entry, and multi-line phone systems
- Basic math and accounting skills
- Ability to work occasional weekends and extended hours
- Ability to remain in a stationary, standing position for up to 75% of an eight (8) hour workday
- Ability to review information and details at close range (within a few feet)
